William J. Champion

I spent twenty-five years working on the International Staff of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and its subsidiaries serving in Asia, Mauritius, North America and Australia. I returned to England in 1990 and the following year joined the staff of the Building Societies Commission where I led a team supervising a group of Building Societies as well as advising the Commission on policy matters relating to capital adequacy, liquidity and treasury matters. In 1999 I was transferred to the Financial Services Authority where I managed a team supervising Banks and Building Societies. I retired from the FSA in 2004.

I joined Daybreak as Treasurer and a Trustee in August 2004. In 2007, I joined the board of a Housing Association, Sovereign Housing Group, as an independent board member.
